Reliability Engineer Job Description
Monitor existing Product Reliability Performance on a portfolio of products.
Provide Monthly Reliability and Maintenance Reports.
Predict MTTF and MTBF systems and sub-systems
Predict Service requirements
Support Six Sigma Improvement Projects with data and analysis, risk assessments, test plans and performance, revised reliability prediction and monitoring for verification of improvement.
Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis and drive Corrective Actions and monitor for efficacy of improvement.
Support the New Product Development process:
Define reliability requirements
Develop and maintain a reliability block diagrams (RBD)
Develop and maintain Design Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (DFEMA)
Support the development and maintenance of the Process FMEAs working in conjunction with the Process Engineers and Quality Engineers.
Develop and implement Reliability Growth Plan
Conduct Highly Accelerated Lift Test (HALT)
Develop Highly Accelerated Stress Screens (HASS)
Support the development and use of Process and Quality Control Plans
Develop and monitor life-testing
Define the maintenance requirements
Monitor Failure Analysis Data for improvement opportunities.
Qualifications:
The key individual will have 8 plus years in applied reliability prediction analysis.
Ability to prepare and effectively communicate formal reports for both internal and external customers.
BS or MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or Reliability Engineering.
Strong working knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical systems.
Familiarity of database configuration and analysis.
Experience using reliability models and analysis software.
Strong project management skills with an emphasis on planning, accountability, risk identification and mitigation and strong team communications.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Moderate experience with financial analysis with regard to the cost of quality and reliability a plus.
ASQ certified Six Sigma Black Belt or Reliability Engineer desirable Coherent, Inc.
