Respected Sir/Madam,
When i visited the Reliability Discussion Forum it gave a Surprise to me that no one is aware/interested on the Reliability based design theory concepts and its useability , so wish that after seeing this that everyone in this field will start to contribute.

I post a Question in the same topic. i wish to know how to do a reliability based design for a stepped shaft subjected to a torque alone and no bending moment.

Few good literature guides on this very important topic: 'DFR for mechanical systems' is available at the following:
a) Mechanical Reliability Handbook: NSWC-07(http://www.mechrel.com/)
b) Reliability based Mechanical Design - Edited by Thomas A. Cruse (Marcel Dekker publishers)

Trust this will be of use to you

Yeah its very important to go through relevant material before concentrating on this particular subject as without that one can not get the through knowledge about how reliability based design can effect the working of a particular mechanical components thanks for sharing this useful link.
