Located just outside of Nashville, Tennessee, the Water Products Company Division Headquarters of A.O. Smith is searching for a Quality Data Analyst.

The Quality Data Analyst will be responsible for creating various statistical reports for all A.O. Smith Water Products Company products, brands, and manufacturing sites covering various data including warranty, field return metrics, manufacturing and other product data. The person in this role will apply mathematical concepts to aid in the identification of trends and patterns and help build models that drive improvement actions, as well as participate in the new product development process with respect to reliability and predictive quality analysis. This position will help develop metrics, compile data and review for trends and patterns on an on-going basis, as well as helping analyze and track business processes to identify weak links that impact either our customer base or our internal systems/processes, and suggest ways to improve those processes. This position will have to find innovative ways to use data in order to improve existing systems and processes, and provide support to engineering in reliability data generation and analysis including predictive quality and reliability statistics. This position will also serve as a general statistical consulting resource for the entire A.O. Smith Corporation.

The successful candidate will be computer literate in all MS Office Suite programs, and will have superior Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, etc.) as well as the ability to demonstrate expertise in statistical software such as MiniTab, Statistica, SAS, or similar programs. This person will posses expert level skills with corrective action methodologies, and ample experience with manufacturing quality data (yields, AFR, MTBF, etc.). This person must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to describe statistical concepts to non-statisticians and describe conclusions drawn from statistical analysis.

We are looking for a candidate with at least five-years of substantial real-world experience, especially in data analysis, predictive modeling and experimental design with at least a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or statistically related field.
