We have funding for an academic with interests in the broad field of
systems reliability modelling. The successful applicant will
primarily teach in the new Masters by course work degree program in
Engineering Asset Management and supervise PhD and Masters students.
Detailed information on the position and the new course can be
obtained through the links http://www.mech.uwa.edu.au/~mhodki/. (http://www.mech.uwa.edu.au/~mhodki/) The
application description is very broad as we are aware that there is
a limited pool of people to draw from and the interests of the new
appointee will help to shape interests and direction of the new
group. There is also the opportunity for senior researchers to take
a leadership role in the EAM program.
Western Australia is in the midst of a resource boom and industry is
desperate to upgrade the reliability skills of their engineers.
There are many funding options here and also the opportunity to
build a new and exciting reliability/engineering asset management
program. The new masters program has been developed in close
collaboration with industry and is supported by a $200k strategic
funding grant from the University of Western Australia.
In addition to the academic teaching/research position, we also have
a 3 year industry funded research position in subsea reliability. We
are still processing the HR paperwork prior to a formal advertising
but an expression of interest is available on
