Reliability/Maintainability Engineer

Performs system and component reliability analysis for product support.. The responsibilities require a broad understanding of engineering principles and a working knowledge of other related disciplines. The candidate must be able to function independently within a team-based environment. The candidate should have excellent communication skills including the ability to write technical reports. This position is located next to Orange County in Southen California.

Duties include:


· Analyze failure effects at the component level and extrapolate effects at the system level.
· Analyze failure modes qualitatively for frequency of occurrence and effects on the aircraft.
· Ability to evaluate customer requirements and prepare reliability analyses, reports, plans and testing.
· Ability to evaluate vendor requirements and prepare reliability analyses, reports, plans and testing.
· Maintainability Analysis using MSG-3 (including task analysis, maintenance predictions, level of repair analysis, maintenance allocation).
· Produces monthly reports analyzing returns performs root cause analysis to identify causes for degrading trends.
· Performs component analysis to include mean time between unscheduled removals, mean time between failures and generates corrective action plans based on component trend analysis.
· Analyzes fielded products for reliability performance and failure trends in support of commercial and military programs.
· Conducts analysis of in-service field performance from customers proprietary databases for trending/alerts; analyze components for product reliability goals/improvements; prepare, submit queries, produce reports using customer specific reliability forecasting tools; make presentations on performance reliability, etc.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's of Science Degree in an appropriate discipline/science and experience in a Reliability Engineering capacity. A master’s degree is a plus.
