I am a student at University of the West Indies , Cave Hill. I am trying to build a model to evaluate pipelines. It was suggested that I use the the Weibull regression model based on available data. I recently down loaded the Weibull 5++ evaluation software from the net. I currently have data on length of pipe, diameter, age of pipe, pressure in the pipe, material of pipe, type of soil and steepness of the terrain. I would like to know if the evaluation software is capable of calculating the probability of failure of the pipelines.

Weibull++ can not calculate the probability of failure of the pipelines given the parameters you have stated. Analysis within Weibull++ is based on Life Data. If you conduct a test of the pipelines at certain specifications, you could then measure the time-to-failure or whatever you are interested in measuring (it does not have to be time), assuming you have defined what a failure is for the pipelines. You could then input the life data into Weibull++ and the software could analyze the data for you. From this you can determine the probability of failure of the pipelines at a certain time at a specified confidence level.
