Why should I upgrade from Weibull 5? From the existing description, I do not see any significant advancements that would justify any upgrade - maybe all you did was put a pretty new dress on her?

Tom, at first let me point out that we are in the process of putting up more descriptions of all the new items in Weibull 6 -- you probably caught us in the middle of updating the web sites. Over the next weeks you will see many more details posted on this web site, along with examples of why Weibull 6 is a major upgrade. However, on your questions of why should I upgrade to 6? At first yes we did put a much prettier dress on, but along with the new dress we reworked the whole application from the ground up, and added many features and capabilities that many users have requested over the last three years. On the surface everything that was in Weibull 5 is still there, but many new power features have been added. For starters Weibull 6 includes our new attached data functionality (i.e. data can be derived from ancillary analysis sub applications). Using this functionality Weibull++ 6 includes new sub applications such as our new Degradation Analysis utility (which alone is worth the price for the upgrade); our new Warranty and Forecasting sub application, as well as sub applications for non-parametric analysis. Additionally Weibull 6 introduces new life data analysis models and distributions as well as additional analysis methods.
The best advice I can give you is to download a copy of Weibull 6 and compare for your self.
