Job Title: Reliability and Test Engineer

Responsibility: Functional and technical excellence in reliability, availability, and maintainability analysis and test

Education Requirements: BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Major Tasks:

• Perform analysis of reliability requirements and goals, construct models, analyze product design for reliability and performance (DFR and DFSS).
• Facilitate team completion of FMEA and FTA using standard work and tools.
• Perform DOE analysis to support test planning and data analysis
• Establish product reliability baselines, create and maintain RAM database for selected products.
• Develop reliability development and growth programs and test plans for product improvement.
• Supportability analysis and provisioning guidance for product maintainability
• Failure analysis and mistake proofing for RCCA and FRACAS support.
• Develop and update customer specific RAM plans.
• Serve as technical resource to external and internal customers for RAM issues

Authority: Define and approve reliability and maintainability requirements, methods, processes for assigned projects. Review and approve R&M plans, analyses and test results.

Required Skills and Competencies:

• At least 4-6 years experience in reliability and maintainability engineering with a supplier or OEM.
• Experienced at performing life data and reliability analysis including: Weibull and Kaplan-Meier; log normal, normal and chi-squared distributions; maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) or least squares; confidence limits, and regression analysis.
• Detailed knowledge of FMEA and FTA and their application to test planning and RCCA failure analysis.
• Experienced with test planning and execution of Accelerated Life Test methods including HALT, ALD, ALT, and similar test methods employing temperature, humidity, vibration, and power variation and cycling stresses on electronic, electrical, or electro-mechanical products to find and correct weaknesses or estimate product life. Hands-on test experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable in ESS, HASS, HASA, and related production screening methods for eliminating latent manufacturing and part defects from production units.
• Experience performing reliability growth test design and analysis using methods including: Gompertz, Duane, Loyd-Lipow, Crow-AMSAA, Crow Extended and similar models.
• Experience with reliability analysis software tools such as Weibull++, ALTA Pro, RGA 6, BlockSim FTI, and FMEA Pro-6.
• Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) implementation and management experience. System, assembly, unit, and component troubleshooting and failure analysis experience.
• Field failure and reliability data analysis experience including applying field data to requirements for reliability improvement on new products. Experience in reliability requirement allocation from system to component level.
