I have a reliability requirement of R=0.99 for 500 hours. Using reliability prediction software I have a predicted failure rate. In the prediction model I have a 50% duty cycle applied to 2 of 3 modules. Using exponential distribution R=exp(-fr*t), would I use t=250 hours or t=500 hours for the 2 modules. It seems if I leave the model as is I would use 500 hours or I could take the duty cycle out of the model and use 250 hours. Any advice.
