Availability tests

I would like to assess the impact of shortening the duration of undertaking availability demonstration tests for a large system. The availability target remains the same, and all other parameters of the test. I assume that it would reduce the Level of Confidence for the tests. Can someone tell me how to calculate this impact (only relatively between the two durations)?
