I need to set up a system that will account for concurrent maintenance. Concurrent maintenance is where a failed component is repaired during a scheduled downtime. the failure (repair upon inspection) does not incur downtime, unless its repair time is longer than the scheduled downtime.
We have several scheduled downtimes that occur throughout the age of the equipment. each has a different duration for scheduled downtime. I can probably create a useful model by modeling 2 of these scheduled downtimes.
I am trying to figure the best way to do this. I am already using inspection at a set interval, and it is used to trigger Corrective maintenance if there was a failure (there are also blocks with 'correct upon failure'). but, I will not use PM via failure detection. I will also set inspection duration to 0 hours.
from the help system:
<>If corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance and inspection are scheduled to occur at the same time for a block, the preventive maintenance and inspection will take priority over the corrective maintenance. If preventive maintenance and an inspection are scheduled to occur at the same time for a block, the inspection will take priority over the preventive maintenance action.Q: will the PM time be recorded after the 0 hours inspection occurs? if they are scheduled at the same time?
Q: if a part if failed, and inspection triggers a corrective, but PM takes priority as cited above, will the part get repaired? will the corrective time be recorded? or will the corrective occur at the same time, and if it finishes first, the part is restored, and no downtime recorded due to corrective?? and if corrective is longer, will the remaining corrective time be recorded in order to impact availability numbers?
<>If Upon Inspection is selected for a corrective maintenance policy and the inspection finds the block failed, a corrective maintenance action is performed following the inspection. Only the corrective maintenance action will restore the block.
Q: same question as above. If the PM is scheduled at the same time, will its time be recorded over the corrective time, unless corrective is longer?
