I test simple inspection policies on simple system of two components in parallel:
Component 1 - corrective maintenance upon failure, exponential, mean time=1. Item group # 1
Component 2 - corrective maintenance upon inspection, Item group # 1
Inspection Policy for Component 2:
Upon fixed time interval based on:
System Age: 300
and
Case 1: Upon Maintenance of another Group Item (that is Component 1)
Case 2: Upon System Down
In this simple example, I expect Case 1 and Case 2 to have similar results, but they are not. For failure rates 1e-4, for T=3000, Unreliability for Case 1 is 5.7e-5 and for Case 2 is 4e-3
Any ideas?
