Is it possible in Weibull++ to generate an equation for the failure rate? I know how to use the QCP to generate a number for the FR at a given time, I also know how to use a spreadsheet and use the FAILURERATE function, however is it possible to generate a faulure rate equation - or would I have to use the FAILURERATE function to generate data that is then analysed in EXCEL to give the associated equation?

Thanks

Hi Robbie,

The failure rate equation for the selected distribution is not specifically returned in Weibull++. However, this can be obtained from the Life Data Analysis Reference. For the Weibull distribution this is presented at http://www.weibull.com/LifeDataWeb/weibull_statistical_properties.htm. The failure rate is the last equation displayed on the page. Similar pages are available for each of the distributions. The contents of the Life Data Analysis Reference can be found at http://www.weibull.com/lifedatawebcontents.htm.

I hope this helps.

Thanks, of course I realise now that I can use the failure rate equation and input the paramters generated by the analysis. I thought perhaps an equivilent simplified equation may have been generated and shown.

Thanks for the feedback
