JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: RELIABILITY ENGINEER
I. JOB FUNCTION
Provides product reliability leadership.
II. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
Reports to the Manager, Reliability and Safety Engineering.
III. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Ownership of reliability program management and execution for projects (development of test plans, FMEA facilitation, field test execution, and warranty data analysis).
· Interface with Customer Service, Operations, Purchasing and Quality Control regarding product quality and warranty concerns.
· Responsible for design of experiments
· Perform Weibull analysis, Root Cause analysis, Reliability testing, etc.
· Common Quality/Reliability related methods e.g. capability studies, measurement system analysis, robust design, failure reporting and corrective action systems (FRACAS).
· Perform other duties as assigned
IV. REQUIREMENTS
· BSME or BSEE
· Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
· ASQ CRE certification or equivalent. Formal college level reliability training is considered equivalent.
· Strong verbal, written, and analytical skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees, vendors and customers.
· Familiarity with ANSI and UL standards strongly desired.
Possess strong analytical and statistical skills
Experienced in Quality/Reliability related methods e.g. capability studies, measurement system analysis, robust design, failure reporting and corrective action systems (FRACAS).
