It was recently recommended to me not to use SMT resistors larger then 1210 due to problems with a mismatch between the CTE of the chip and CTE of the board causing fatigue of the solder joint in temperature cycling. I have a design utilizing up to a 2512 type resistor on FR-4 and 4003 PCB material. Does anyone have any reports on this issue?
