First, thank you for answering all of my recent posts so quickly - this has been very helpful in building my simulations.
My question is going back to repair rules.
I have a group of similar components - lets call them Group B.
I also have a component called Item A.
If any item in Group B fails, I need to do preventative maintenance (replace) all components in Group B AND Item A. I accomplish this (I think) by assigning all of these components the same Item Group # and saying that PM occurs upon maintenance of another group item.
THe problem is, if Item A fails, preventative maintenance does NOT occur on items in Group B - this would only be a minor repair.
Failure and maintenance of either of these items do not cause my entire system to fail, but are necessary for a certain amount of throughput.
How should I model this minor intervention if Item A fails?
Thanks
Jennifer
