View Full Version : Valve cycle reliability testing

I'm trying to set up some reliability testing plans for big valves with actuators. What I wnt to do is specify the number of successful cycles/strokes of hydraulically operated valves to reach a pre-determined reliability value with confidence - is this something that is easily done in Weibull++. The design of reliability tests seems to offer options for number of units, time on test etc. but not for number of cycles/demands - any thoughts on how to set this up?

Hello Robbie,
Even though the DRT tool might word the random variable as time, it is in fact anything you are measuring your failures in (e.g. strokes, actuations, cycles, etc.). As long as you stay consistent between your test and your specifications you should be fine.

Thanks, I understand what to do now
