This position requires Mechanical Engineering degree with a minimum of one year of project management experience. Two to three years in mechanical design is desired, preferably in construction or an industrial environment. Knowledge and experience regarding six sigma, Lean Manufacturing, ISO and PSM as well as some supervisory experience is preferred.
Will be responsible for providing technical assistance, recommendations and engineered solutions to specific manufacturing and maintenance problems affecting plant costs, productivity, efficiency, design or equipment life to achieve stated company goals through the most effective use of company resources. Specific responsibilities include:
- establishing appropriate new, and improving existing, reliability programs.
- preparing detailed designs, specifications, purchases and installation of equipment replacements, modifications and cost eduction projects
- providing detailed calculations, undertaking investigations/studies and/or literature searches or other activities in support of the maintenance and manufacturing functions.
- preparing funding requests for capital or expense projects, defining the proposed activities and justification for the investment.
- participating in hazard and operability studies, involving manufacturing and maintenance.
- evaluating state-of-the-art products and procedures for maintenance use.
- coordinating and working closely with maintenance group leaders, production group leaders, reliability engineers and process engineers to ensure accurate identification and prioritization of equipment reliability opportunities.
- leading implementation of a cost effective and technically sound external equipment rebuild/repair process.
- inspecting failed critical equipment and prepare failure reports with recommendations to prevent recurrence.
Incumbent must have strong interpersonal skills, work well in a team-oriented work environment and be committed to continuous improvement. Individual must also be self-motivated, demonstrate strong initiative and be prepared to effectively perform assignments with minimal supervision. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills as well as strong technical analysis and logic skills. Pay Grade level will be dependent on relative experience and scope of assignment.
