Our client, a Fortune 500 company, manufactures and markets chemicals, fibers and plastics worldwide. They are currently seeking a Reliability Engineer to support reliability efforts at their manufacturing plants. This is an outstanding and very rewarding opportunity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide engineered solutions to complex equipment problems
· Identify and prioritize opportunities for reliability improvement
· Statistically analyze equipment and process performance
· Translate reliability opportunities into financial results
· Provide "design for reliability" input to capital projects
· Support operations and maintenance to improve equipment reliability
· Lead problem solving teams to identify, design and implement improvements
· Promote the use of reliability tools
· Interface with vendors and work closely with other internal groups
· Provide equipment, safety and environment risk mitigation leadership

Education:
· BS degree in Engineering (MS in Engineering and/or MBA preferred)
· Reliability engineering certifications (CRE, CMRP) and/or professional engineering licenses desired
· Six Sigma certification desired

Qualifications:
· Strong basic engineering skills
· Ability to work with and lead cross-functional teams
· Ability to develop project plans and timelines
· Experience using project management software/tools such as Microsoft Project
· Ability to implement change as a result of a project
· Solid verbal and written communication skills
· LEAN and Six Sigma skills preferred

· The following skills in basic Reliability Engineering are desired:
o Mechanical Components/System
· Rotating Equipment
· Fixed Equipment (vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems, etc)
o Properly categorizing and analyzing failure data and modes
o Translating failure data to cost
o FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis) , RCA (Root Cause Analysis)
o Fault Tree Analysis
o Data Mining and management
o Reliability Growth Methods (Crow-AMSAA)
o Failure Reporting and Analysis (FRACAS)
o Monte Carlo Simulation
o Basic Reliability Models and block diagrams
o Availability, Reliability and Maintainability
o Statistical Analysis skills (Weibull, Growth, Reliability, etc)
o Basic understanding of common proactive technologies such as vibration analysis, lubrication analysis, machinery analysis, thermography, motor analysis, ultrasonics, alignment and balancing procedures, and fixed equipment diagnostic technologies
o Basic understanding of Project Value Identification such as NPV, IRR analysis, ability to convert the cost of unreliability into bottom line profit, and apply reliability business case tools.

Location: Kingsport, Tennessee.
