I am trying to review the degredation Analysis tool of Weibull++ and my question is how do I know which extarpolation model best suits the data?Based on the model selected, there is a regresssion analysis done to get the parameters, shouldn't there be a co-relation coefficient (like rho ) which lets me pick the best model? Please explain and let me know if I am missing something?

Thanks

Are you using Weibull++ 7? There is a Degradation Model Wizard (third button on the control panel) that ranks all models. Number 1 is the best fit.

In that same window that displays the ranks there is a sheet called MSE next to the Ranks sheet that shows the mean square error for each unit or specimen and the sum of all mean square errors. That is what is used to rank the degradation models.

Hope this helps,
Arai
