Hi..

I am newbie in this forum and woundering if anyone can help me with my problem though i tried a lot to solve it.

I am working with a wound rotor machine which has a slip ring in the rotor side to receive the rotor current and voltage. I am from the electrical background but trying to model the reliability of the slip ring. Does anyone know the reliability (failure rate) data of such slip ring? Any papers, books will be helpful.

I am stack on this issue for a long time and need some urgent help.

Thanks
Arif

Do you have any data?

Sorry...i didnt get your question...the machine that i am considering rated at 1.6kW..i have got a book today from IEEE and found that hey have some failure data for a wound rotor machine but the rating is very high and not applicable for me...

I need the value of failure rate (lamda) for a slip ring unit..

Thanks
Arif

I was not sure if you were trying to compute the value based on your data or just looking for a generic reference value. I now realize that it is the later. On that I cannot help.
