I am analyzing trouble tickets for a Software based system. I have observed that many system failures are addressed by simply re-booting the system. In other words - the system is up and operational when you reboot it. I am not sure if these are Hardware failures or a Software failures? If I have to charge this failure to either Hardware or Software - what should be a better choice? Should all failures which are addressed by Re-boots, be essentially categorized as transient, non-reproducible software failures?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this issue.

I think you must judge it by case, and can't make the failure all the same.
