Hi
I am trying to obtain a failure estimation for some actuators using the Carderock Mechanical Reliability Handbook. I have no problem with the equations in section 9 of the handbook. However, when I look at Figure 9.2 on page 9-8 it appears to me that this shows an increasing failure rate and not a constant one. My question is then is it possible and correct to convert the constant failure rate equations 9-12 and 9-13 from a constant failure rate, lambda, to an increasing failure rate using the Weibull distribution with parameters beta and eta? If so, how? Thanks for your time.
