pleae help:

for example,
a)in FMEA, for one event the failure rate = 2 per million hours.
b) Is it equal to also the probability of failure for that event.
c) if so. could you tell the relevant comparitive formulas.

No it is not.
So – assuming that the failure rate (fr) is constant (not necessarily a valid assumption, but that is all you provided) – then the probability of failure (Q) at time T is
Q=1-exp(-fr*T)

(Note that you need to keep in mind that the units of T and fr must be the same)
