Dear all,

1. I need to calculate the overall reliability of product based on the results of around 25 tests. Expected R(2years) is 0.95. How the individual test duration & field application duration can be correlated to arrive the entire product reliability.

2. Some of the tests calls for 10,000 hours which is practically impossible. please suggest me the method of acceleration test ( HALT ) to reduce the test duration & sample size without afftecting the accuracy of life prediction.

3. what is the difference between mean life & Product life?

Hi,

Regards #2, you can't reduce the test duration and sample size without affecting the accuracy of the life prediction. Sorry.

Regards 3#, the mean life is the average of all the lives of the units, while a product life would be one (random) instance of a unit's life.

Regards #1,2, and 3: It looks like you'd benefit from the ReliaSoft series of introductory classes, and I recommend them to you.

Best wishes
Dr. Dave
