Hello,
Im a uni student current doing a thesis on forecasting technology. I'd like to know how does the weibull distribution give rise to the s-curve equation and where can i get more info on such this topic. If anyone could help me with this i'd be most appreciated. Thanks.

I don’t know what you exactly mean by the ‘s-curve’, but I will tell you where I have seen a link between the s-curve and the Weibull distribution.
The Mixed Weibull distribution is used to model data that do not fall on a straight line on a Weibull probability plot. Data of this type, particularly if the data points follow an S-shape on the probability plot, may be indicative of more than one failure mode (more than one population or more than one behavior ….etc) at work in the population of failure times (or whatever is the random variable you are modeling).
